What you need for a marble manicure:
- a bowl of water; - 2, 3 or even 4 varnishes; - white lacquer; - toothpick; - vaseline or coconut oil; - acetone; - orange stick; - cotton discs; - cuticle oil. .
Step-by-step instructions for creating a marble manicure
1. Preparing your nails
Remove the old nail polish from your nails. Use an orange stick to gently push back the cuticle. Coat your nails with white nail polish - this will be the base for the marble design. To create a marble effect, your nails will need to be dipped in polish, so be sure to apply petroleum jelly or coconut oil to the skin around your nails.
2. Making a marble design
Once the white polish is completely dry, pour room temperature water into a bowl (not cold so the polish doesn't harden too quickly). Then using a brush, one drop at a time, gently add each of your chosen lacquers to the water.
3. Mix the contents in a bowl
Use a toothpick to create a pattern in the bowl, forming a marble pattern to your liking. This is where your creative journey begins! You can simply draw a few parallel lines or add curls and twists - don't worry, there are no strict rules and no wrong ways to do it.
4. Dip one finger into the water at a time
You need to scoop up the nail polish with your fingernail at a 45-degree angle, and then gently pull your finger out. In this way, you pick up the right amount of coating so that it lies on the nail in an even layer. This movement takes no more than a second.
5. Clean off any excess
Clean off excess skin with a cotton disc moistened with acetone. Work carefully, treating each nail individually.
6. Fix the design
Wait for the coating to dry completely, then apply a clear top coat to protect the design from chipping. Be sure to apply oil to the cuticle: after using acetone, it becomes very dry.
