Classic French manicure has always been considered the epitome of versatility and usually ranks high on popularity charts. The modern version — the curved French manicure — is so striking that it can completely redefine the traditional idea of a French manicure. 

This fall, the curved French manicure is trending. It’s easy to recognize: the polish line doesn’t stop at the usual point on the sides of the nail but follows the natural curve of the entire nail plate. In other words, take a classic French manicure, add an element of reverse French, and combine them — resulting in a perfect circular line that visually elongates the nail and looks incredibly modern.

This fall, the trend has made a comeback: nail artist Zola Ganzorigt created a striking red-and-white manicure for Jennie Kim, which was named the “curved French.” 

Smooth, radiant, and impeccably stylish, the curved French manicure is a modern interpretation of the classic French look. A translucent base combined with a colored line creates the perfect balance between elegant restraint and fashionable boldness. The design is versatile enough for everyday wear, yet it draws attention and highlights individuality—proof that minimalism on nails can be truly striking. 

Later, Dua Lipa showcased her version of the manicure in a similar color scheme — this time with a red base — during a weekend trip to New York. The manicure was done by Mei Kawajiri: she first applied an apple-red shade and then finished the tips with classic white polish. 

1. First, apply a rubber base coat for gel polish, Strong Rubber Base Coat Long Lasting by Global Fashion. It ensures strong adhesion to the nail plate and guarantees long-lasting wear. 

2. Next, apply one layer of BLACK ELITE 061 gel polish by Global Fashion to create a flawless nude base. 

3. Use a fine brush to carefully draw a circular line, and choose Black Elite 187 in a vibrant apple-red shade — it will add brightness and expressiveness to your design. (You can pick any shades you like best.) Gently brush along the edge of the nail, leaving a thin strip near the cuticle — this creates an elegant and striking accent.

4. Apply a Diamond Top Coat without a sticky layer to securely seal your manicure and protect it from chipping. 

 

After each step, nails should be cured under a lamp.
