Long and beautiful nails are every girl's dream. However, not everyone manages to grow them naturally. Today, the procedure of nail extensions is very popular, and many girls turn to manicurists for this service. In addition to the classic build-up, there are modern gel tips, which allow you to achieve the perfect result in just 30 minutes. In this article we will tell you what gel tips are, their advantages and how to build up nails with their help.
What are gel types?
Gel tips are a modern method of nail extension, which allows you to quickly and easily get the desired length and shape. These tips are made of strong but flexible material, which is attached to the natural nail with a special gel. One of the main advantages of gel tips is their natural look and durability.
Advantages of gel tips
- Fast procedure. Gel nail extensions take about 30 minutes.
- Natural look. Tips look as natural as possible, not differing from natural nails.
- Durability. Such nails can last for several weeks without losing quality.
- Convenience and comfort. Due to the flexibility of the material, gel tips are comfortable to wear and do not cause discomfort.
- Time saving. The contact zone is already ground, which eliminates the need for additional processing.
- Safety. Tips are made of safe material, which exactly repeats the shape of the nail without adding thickening to the plate. They are gentle on the nails, ensuring their safety and natural look.
How to do extension on gel tips
1. Nail preparation. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Remove old nail polish or gel polish from your nails. Push back and remove cuticle. Give your nails the desired shape with a nail file.
2. Selecting tips. Match the tipis to the size of each nail.
3. Prepare the nail surface. Lightly polish the nail surface with a buff to remove shine. Then thoroughly degrease the nail plate using a special product. After that, apply a primer and then a thin layer of base coat. Finish the process by polymerising in the lamp.
4. Application of tips. Apply a medium consistency base to the contact area of the gel tip. Carefully apply the tip to the nail, keeping it 1-2 mm away from the cuticle. Start pressing the tip to the nail, starting from the cuticle area and moving towards the free edge to distribute the material evenly.
5. Drying. Polymerise under a UV/LED lamp for 60 seconds.
6. Trimming and filing. Trim the tips to the desired length, making sure the edges are smooth and even. Carefully file off the step at the base of the nail in the cuticle area. Then give the desired shape to the free edge of the nail.
7. Preparing for the next coating. Prepare the correct nail architecture for further coating.
Unlike classic build-up on top or bottom moulds, the process of build-up on gel tips takes only 30 to 60 minutes on average. This method is a modern and safe way to create a stylish and high-quality manicure.
